2 Down, 28 To Go!!!!
I am writing this from the depths of my clothes mountain, situated somewhere in My Managers Lounge, Hampshire.
It's so funny coming back on tour again, remembering all the little rituals I do and getting back into a routine. For instance, most days before my gigs I have 'voice rest' which involves no talking, singing or laughing... it's pretty difficult for old foghorn here. But it's also calming and therapeutic and feels right.
So I've completed two gigs out of the total thirty... On Friday evening was the turn of Northampton. It was a pleasure to be there as always, they never fail to look after us wonderfully. Thank you to Jasmine and Will for your lovely music too, 'twas a pleasure to share the stage with you :)
Last night we headed to Exeter (where we will be spending a lot of time over the course of this tour!) for the Acoustica festival. I knew I was to be playing on the Garden Stage, but for some reason I didn't work out that that meant I'd be singing outside. So I was surprised to be greeted by a stage in a garden. And yes, I am blonde. It was a lovely little set up- 6 stages dotted in various places around The Phoenix with all sorts of wonderful music coming from each of them throughout the afternoon and evening. The picture on this blog is of me in my cosy position. I especially liked the indoor lamp. Nice touch. Thank you to Simon the sound man for working your magic and for all those who crept into the garden without me realising and gave me a pleasant surprise when I opened my eyes after the first song! :)
Next gig for me is Wednesday morning where I'll be back in Exeter doing a live session at BBC Radio Devon!! Very excited for that. Then on Thursday evening I'm performing at a teeny weeny awesome venue The 12 Bar Club in Soho, London, supporting Ian Parker.
For full information of where I'm heading over the next 6 weeks and to buy tickets, please go to www.jazzmorley.co.uk/gigs. You'll even get a free mp3 with every purchase! ;)
Hope to see some of you very soon, and in the meantime, if you fancy sharing your favourite inspirational quotes, sayings or lyrics, please post them on my Facebook page (www.facebook.com/jazzmorley), as I'm on a mission of positivity and creativity! Especially as the days are getting shorter and darker and colder now... brrr. We need to keep our spirits warm (and sometimes this takes more than whisky).
Lots of love to you.
Jazz xxxx
